Yusef Lateef, "Live at Ronny Scott's" (15.1.1966): Y. Lateef (flute, sax.), Stan Tracey (piano), Rick Laird (bass), Bill Eyden (drums). Mono-LP, Gearbox Recs. 2016.
Viele Grüße
Joachim
Hatten wir die schon?

Adam Makowicz, piano / Bill Goodwin, drums / Phil Woods, saxophone / Gene Estes, percussion,
Marc Johnson, acoustic bass
Tolle Direct To Disc LP!

Hmmm.
https://store.gearboxrecords.c…nyl/products/yusef-lateef

Mono recording, mono cut by the use of a stereo cutter.
None of the Gearbox records mono pressings are cut with the use of a mono cutter. All are mono cut by a stereo cutter.
My source: Gearbox records I asked them and got a straight answer.
It is what it is and I like their pressings too.

Most mono reissues -- and also most mono pressings in the 1960s -- were in fact cut with stereo cutter heads. One of the few exceptions are the mono reissues made by the Electric Recording Company (they use mono cutter heads):

But if you cut a mono signal with a stereo cutter then you can still play the record with a mono cartridge.
