I have had Four Sony TTS 8000.
Two of these are still owned by myself.
One is to be kept as the original design with a Platter Bearing Service.
The other is with an engineer undergoing a Platter Bearing and Bearing Parts and Housing redesign.
Checking a TTS 8000 Platter Bearing Spindle signs of a sideways movement is advised and is quite an easy task.
It is also worth removing the spindle from the housing, as this is not too difficult, and checking for a dry bearing and any contaminant as a result of a bearing being run dry.
Also check the ball at the bottom of the spindle for scribe damage.
These conditions are known of on the TTS 8000.
Fortunately any discoveries are quite easy to remediate.
