Armlänge TD 160 Super/ TD 160 MKII

    gute Frage. Hab mit meinem Super da auch so ein paar Probleme gehabt.


    Wenn der RB200 drauf ist (also rega-Bohrung) müsste der naturgegeben - eff. Länge, Kröpfungswinkel etc- eine andere "Position"/Bohrung als der Standard TP16 haben. Das Fenster im oberen Metallchassis, was für den Arm ausgeschnitten ist, ist sicherlich gleich. Thorens hat für die 14x/16x m.W. nur andere Bedruckungen (z.B.Super statt MKII) oder andere Farbvarianten (nur silber, schwarz mit unterschiedlicher Anordnung) gehabt.


    Gut möglich ist aber auch eine optische Täuschung, da der Super eine dickere Zarge hat.


    Da ich zusätzlich einen TD 166 mit Rega RB 250 habe messe ich es mal in einer ruhigen Minute aus.


    Eines weiß ich nach leidvoller Erfahrung: SME-Arme sind am 160er (obwohl 9") nicht gut unterzubringen, da der 160er in der Tiefe relativ eng baut und zudem die Cinchkabel mit den Schraubfedern kollidieren. Mit Tricks und z.B mit einer extra von SME vertriebenen Bohrung kommt es hin.


    Ich vermute daher - ohne mich mit Geodreick und sonstigen Hilfsmittel zu bewaffnen- mehr als 9" nicht drauf gehen, also Arme um die 230mm.

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACEMENT OF PICK-UP ARM WITH SME SERIES II IMPROVED
    Requirements
    TD160/3009 MOUNTING KIT, comprising:
    1 - P2 Mounting adaptor plate
    4 - 8BA x 1/4" round head chromium plated screws
    1 - Information Sheet No. 14
    Price £4.05 plus airmail postage of 30p.


    a) Remove the turntable, flywheel and driving belt.
    b) Turn the unit on its side and remove the hardboard base by unscrewing the four rubber feet.
    c) Unsolder or snip off the wires connecting the Thorens arm and detach the Thorens audio lead, at the terminal block. Figure l.
    d) Disconnect the flexible cable of the cueing device at the control knob. Remove the circlip to release the wire cable. Prise open the fork to release the ferrule and the outer cable. Figure 2.
    e) Remove the Thorens pick-up arm - 3 screws. Save these for re-use. _
    f) Remove the Thorens arm rest - 2 screws. Figure 1.
    q) The existing cut-out in the floating chassis is shown in Figure 3 and the change necessary to accommodate the SME arm is shown in Figure 4. Use an 8" second cut half round file and support the part whilst filing. Cut
    out Figure 4 and use it to check the work as it proceeds.
    h) Fit the P2 Mounting adaptor plate using the three screws that secured the Thorens arm.
    i) Fit the SME pick-up arm with the four 88A x V" round head chromium plated screws.
    j) Tighten the nut of suspension spring 'A.' by one full turn. Figure 1. Later minor adjustment may be required to achieve a level disposition.
    k) Connect the SME audio lead and attach the ground lead. Figure 1.
    l) Re-fit-the hardboard base and feet passing the mains lead and audio lead through the appropriate slots. The audio lead must be arranged so that it does not restrict movement of the floating portion of the unit.
    m) Replace the flywheel, driving belt and turntable.
    n)Proceed with the other adjustments to the arm detailed in the instruction book.

    Da hatte ich vor längerer Zeit mit Roman: schon einen Infoaustausch.


    Irgendwo habe ich auch ein Bild zu ArtNr 3829 hier eingestellt.


    Wie auch immer: Ist ein wenig kitzlig**). Andere Arme lassen sich "leichter" auf den 160er aufbringen.

    Die Bezeichnung "C" stammt m.W. noch aus den frühen Tagen des TD 160 (Modell A, AB etc) ... die oben erwähnte Spezialbohrung 3829 bzw. für die Serie 300/IV/V Arme (3829/IV) hat eine ähnlich lautende bzw. gezeichnete Anleitung.

  • Wenn man nicht auf 100%-Originalität besteht, kann man mit etwas Mut die Tonarmbasis vergrößern, dann könnte noch 10" drin sein, hängt dann aber vom Arm ab, ob noch die Haube paßt.

  • Hallo.


    Ein Spezi von mir hat den 3009 auf TD160. Der Armflansch ist aus dem Thorens-Repertoire, und die Montage ging ohne Arbeiten am Blech. Wenn ich mich recht entsinne, haben wir auf die ovale Abschirmhaube unter'm Arm verzichtet, dann baut der SME untenrum weniger voluminös. Ich weiß noch, daß wir das Cinch-Terminal um 180° umbauten, damit die Phonokabel nicht innen in die Ecke der Zarge zeigen.


    Aber es gibt wohl andere Laufwerke, auf denen sich die Montage eines SME einfacher gestaltet :)

    habe meinen TD 160 MK II mit den Armausschnitten meines TD 160 Super verglichen. Identisch !!


    In der Thorensinfo habe ich einen TD 166 mit Sonderwunschausführung Rega RB 250 gefunden und der hat eff. Länge 237 mm. Ausgehend davon ,dass der 166er mit den Einbaumassen der 160er identisch ist und ich mal vermute, dass auch der RB 200 eff. 237 mm hat, müsste eigentlich auch der noch gerade passen. Haube lasse ich mal unberücksichtigt.


    Hat jemand Daten zum RB 200 ( wurde von Acos gebaut)?

    Hallo Lothar.
    ein 3009er gehört niemals auf einen z. B. Micro (Stilbruch) und ein RB 200 erst recht nicht.


    Ausserdem ginge das einfach und wäre somit nur laaaaaangweilig. Willst Du dich langweilen ?
    Na also.
