Mein Weg zum GrooveMaster II

    danke für Deine interessanten Bilder der Ebenholzbase für Deinen Micro Seiki Plattenspieler. Sieht toll aus. Kannst Du uns mitteilen, wer in England diese hergestellt hat?


    Bei mir ist der Groovemaster II auf einem Dr. Feickert Blackbird installiert. Bei der Base handelt es sich um die Standard Dr. Feickert Base für einen Jelco Tonarm.

    I got the ebony Micro from him because he wanted to show me what he can make. Micro is not my favorite turntable after i heard an old Thorens TD125 which was much better than the BL51 or BL91 from Micro.

    I have been using a Sota sapphire for a long time with a 64S arm. After that i bought a second 64S which was mounted on a Micro rx1500 but i only wanted the arm so i sold the RX1500 very quickly. They look impressive but i dont like the sound.

    I bought the Scheu that you can see in my other posts on this site. Right now i want to start using it after it has been in my attic for a long time!!!

    I always have been a fan of big platters, i mean big diameter!

    I wanna try magnetic levitation feet for my Scheu later. I think my friends in Vietnam use the same principle i should ask them.

    The company in England told me that ebony gives the best sound for armboards. BUT he is selling them. I send him a part of my future groovemaster and i told him to make an ebony arm pod that can hold that part and he made that for me.You can even see it at his website.

    Auch die Armboards für Technics 1200 finde ich sehr interessant.

    I exchanged a lot of mails with him before i knew how i wanted my armbase to be.

    I think he is a real craftsman. He knows what he can do and what he cannot do. Because he made so many things he usually can tell you what will be a good solution in your situation. He will get feedback from customers who sometimes have their own ideas that can be mixed with his ideas.

    He told me with ebony it is not usefull to add holes in it to fill them with bleischrott. So i went for just ebony to hold my future groovemaster arm

    I got answer from Steve today.

    Hi,

    In answer to where the ebony comes from, my supplier responsibly

    sources it from West Africa.

    The second thing is; The ebony I can source takes 1 year per inch

    thickness to dry out. It needs to be done slowly or the piece will

    crack when worked.



    It comes from Africa sealed in wax. My supplier dries and supplies me

    1" thick blocks for turning armboards. You need a max 80mm x 110mm

    thick block!

    I should have posted the faces of my coworkers when i told them bike and tonarm have same price. But they buy a new car every 3 years and because i only have a bike ( cycle 26km every day) i can get myself a groovemaster.

    If i can use it the same time as i am using my present FR 64S i will be happy. I mean not so happy dont wanna get that old.

    auf der Groovemaster Hompage findest Du genau diese Bilder und auch Links zu diversen Foren.

    Mein Tonarm wird diese Woche gebaut. Und zwar in 290mm Länge, da der DFA Woodpecker keine

    305mm (12") Tonarme zulässt. Der Groovmaster passt auf den DFA Jelco Slider. Du must aber für

    45 Euro das Collar mitbestellen, damit der Tonarm auf die Jelco Basis montiert werden kann.


    Es gibt den Groovemaster II auch mit SPU A Anschluss.

    kannst du mir dann Bilder davon senden. Bin da auch interessiert dachte das paßt so auf den Feikert, mein 12 Zoll Jelco funktioniert so.

    PS: der Jelco TK 950 L 12" Tonarm hat eine effektive. Länge von 303 mm minus 13mm Überhang, sind dann genau 290 mm wie der 290 mm Groovemaster. Der "größere" 12 " Groovemaster, wie auch der Schick 12" passen nicht auf den Woodpecker. Der DFA Firebird hat andere Abmessungen

    Ein Tonarmboard geht von 205-345mm (pivot to spindle)

    Das Zweite von 205-300mm (pivot to spindle) ... wie beim Woodpecker.

    hattest du nicht diese wunderschönen Racks gebaut, meine sogar passend zum 401!?


    Habe meinen Groovemaster (Titan& Silberverkabekung) direkt in Goor bei Marco abgeholt.

    Sehr angenehmer Zeitgenosse, hat mir das komplette Zubehör/Umgang mit den Justageschablonen

    erklärt.

    Es standen ca.6 Groovemaster zur Abholung bereit.

    Vorführung erfolgt auf einem Lenco-Umbau (natürlich von ihm).

    Er ist ein bekennender Garrardist, hat mir Audio Grail empfohlen, als auch nur das Stichwort Reibrad fiel.

    Dann war meine Erinnerung nicht getrübt.

    Bin dienstlich jede Woche in Nordhorn, von da ein Katzensprung.

    Vom nördlichen NRW aus, geht das auch von der Entfernung.

    Dafür hast du‘s ja nicht so weit nach Innsbruck.😉

    Hallo zusammen,


    Ich bin der mit dem Firebird und den beiden 12'' Zoll Groovemaster Tonarmen. Also Einbauabstand 304,75 mm. Dies passt auch auf der hinteren Position des Firebird, auch wenn hier offiziell nur 300mm zur Verfügung stehen. Man muss dann ein bisschen Hand an dem unteren Kunstoff-Slider anlegen und ein wenig von der Kunstoff-Lippe abschleifen.


    Sollte somit auch mit dem Woodpecker gehen. Der Tonarm sitzt dann jedoch ganz Außen in der Ecke. Die Variante des Groovemaster mit 290mm solte hier optisch auf jeden Fall besser passen.
